NCH Essay Competition 2019 - The Student Room.
The Philosophy Essay Prize is open to Year 12 or Lower 6th students. The aim of the Prize is to encourage able sixth formers to pursue their interest in Philosophy, with the hope that they will be encouraged to read this or related subjects at University. The titles for the 2020 Philosophy Essay Prize competition are as follows.
The New College of the Humanities announced the winners of their 2019 NCH London Essay Competition at a special award ceremony in London and Brentwood School Sixth.
Hannah and Leona, both year 12 students, were shortlisted as runners up for the London New College of Humanities Philosophy essay competition for their essay on 'Do we need Philosophers?' The students wrote their essays without teacher assistance and this was the first full length Philosophy essay they completed in year 12.
R.A. Butler Politics Prize The R.A. Butler Prize for essays in Politics and International Studies is a competition that can be entered by students in Year 12 or the Lower 6th. Candidates are invited to submit an essay on a topic to be chosen from a list of general questions announced in March each year, and to be submitted in August.
The New College of the Humanities announced the winners of their 2019 NCH London Essay Competition at a special award ceremony in London and Brentwood School Sixth Former Kimberley Shaw was among the winners.
The winner, runners up and those with shortlisted essays will be contacted via the email used to submit the essay. Unfortunately, any other feedback will not be possible to any of the entrants. The Marshall Society reserves the final right, where necessary, to make amendments to the above terms and conditions and to select the winners of the competition.
Congratulations to Alex (L6) for her essay which has been shortlisted in the New College of the Humanities Essay Competition 2019. Over 3600 entries were received for the competition, so to reach this stage is a great achievement. Alex will be attending the award ceremony next week in London where the winners will be announced.
